Thursday 25 April is an opportunity to visit Panzano in Chianti (municipality of Greve in Chianti) where the Festival of Stagion Bona is held every year. The small village, situated on the top of a hill between the Greve and Pesa valleys, will welcome you for a day with an ancient flavor, a medieval atmosphere, many shows and fireworks around 11pm.

The event is a historical re-enactment in costume, where for over fifty years the ancient feud between the Gherardini and the Firidolfi has been revived. The setting is the village of Panzano in Chianti.
From the morning you will find market stalls with typical products of the area. The party gets underway in the afternoon when at 4 pm the historical procession begins to parade through the streets of the town up to the Piazza del Castello where the trial of Carlo de ‘Gherardini is celebrated, guilty of killing a member of the Firidolfi family. The show ends with the death sentence of Gherardini, when beheaded, when hanged, when burned …

In the following weekend you will be able to enjoy both the landscapes of Chianti with our bike or Vespa tours and to taste a good Chianti Classico in a private tasting at the Enoteca Toscana or by booking one of our wine tours.
